EVENT 5 – eInsight

Government Process Re-engineering using IT to simplify and make the government processes more efficient is critical for transformation to make the delivery of government services more effective across various government domains and therefore needs to be implemented by all Ministries/ Departments.

The information should be in electronic form and not manual. The workflow inside government departments and agencies should be automated to enable efficient government processes and also to allow visibility of these processes to citizens. IT should be used to automate, respond and analyze data to identify and resolve persistent problems.

Innovate and Rebuild – Insight is open to students of class VIII. Participant will be required to compete onsite at the DPSG Vasundhara campus, and must be officially registered for the Web Design Competition

The purpose of the competition is to reproduce a 4+ page equivalent website based on the competition topic (announced on the day of the competition), permitted development tool HTML, target web browsers, and teamwork. An already created/ designed and developed website will be provided to the teams, so that each team shall innovatively recreate the same website.

PRELIMINARY ROUND:

Each school team will participate in a qualifying round – a Technical Pen and Paper MCQ Quiz based on the given software. The top ten scorers (school teams) for the event will be shortlisted for the final round.

FINAL ROUND:

Each team will be assigned to a computer.

* Each team must do all the work of recreating the web pages using HTML.

* Each team may make use the given content (e.g. images, audio, and video) provided by the host school.

* Your site must function & load quickly in all major browsers.

* The use of animation software is not allowed.

REQUIREMENTS:

* The website must contain the following components:

* One page must be your home (index) page, which introduces the topic. Introductory article or overview. Menu or index of some type

* Three pages must be dedicated to your own views or ideas that illustrate the theme.

JUDGMENT CRITERIA:

1. Content

2. Aesthetics

3. Redesigned website

4. Quality of a two-minute oral presentation on the website when submitting the website to the judges.
