Event 6 – STEMathon

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

It refers to the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The term is typically used when addressing education policy and curriculum choices in schools to improve competitiveness in science and technology development.

Participants are required to research on one of the given topics and make an Integrated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) project.

We at Dpsgv believe that young technocrats can successfully foster the idea of Make-In-India, a major national initiative designed to facilitate investment; foster innovation; enhance skill development; protect intellectual property, and build best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure. The primary goal of making India a global manufacturing hub, by encouraging both multinational as well as domestic companies/individuals to manufacture their products within the country.

The participant has to present an original project embedding STEM based on any one of the below given topics. The purpose of the competition is to present a topic based on applications or projects which are based on one of the below given topics. There is no limit on the number of slides but the presentation should not exceed 4 minutes (3 minutes for presentation and one minute for question answer session).

The topics are as follows:

1. White energy resources and their utilization

2. Light pollution obstructing path of progress of astronomer

3. Genetically engineered tomato trees

4. Human beat computers in quantum game

5. Sea weeds promising organic fertilizers.

JUDGMENT CRITERIA:

a. Creativity and innovation

b. Collaboration and communication

c. Critical Thinking/ Problem solving/ decision making

d. Technology operations and concepts

e. Research and Information Fluency

NOTE: ONLY Participants of EVENT 6 are allowed to bring their laptops and whatever accessories are required for their presentation. Speakers will be provided at the venue itself.
